I be backing up files from my complex drive to a CD when the compact disc burner went kaput. The computer stopped and I couldn't reboot until I disconnected the power from the disc burner. I know my CD reader works because I in fact got it to work one time. Now the control panel refuse to admit that the entry even exists.
My compact disc reader turned invisible?
I am a CD and hold felt that I didn't exist sometimes.
i estimate that you damaged it, i would own a professional check it. take it to best buy or notebook world.
The cd drive is defective. It effects Windows Plug-n-Play when it goes down, cause Windows to remove the device.
go into bios settup and nouns bios defaults ... if that doesnt do it u could try updating the drives firmware but the bios must see it to do that ....it may simply be gone ...
Have you disabled the CD reader? You can check by looking around your control panel.
1. Plug your disc burner in.
2. Go to My Computer>Control Panel>Classic View(If you enjoy XP, and it is not already in Classic View (you can find this on the gone side of the folder window))>Add Hardware>Next>>Yes, I have connected the hardware>Find the disc burner and click Next
This should fix the problem, otherwise beat your computer near a metal bat.
