my computer wont shift on standby?

1. You may hold to set up power off/stand-by option contained by BIOS. There are two ACPI standby states: S1 and S3. The S3 state is known as Suspend to RAM (STR) and provides the greatest amount of power nest egg. While in the S3 state, the PC is silent next to the monitor and fans sour. In the S1 state, a bit more power is consumed and the fans remain moving. Some devices are not ACPI compliant and therefore may not work all right with the S3 state. The PC will resume commonplace operations from any state within 5 - 30 second.

2. You may have non-WHQL certified driver to be exact preventing stand-by. Look in Event Viewer for problem related to Stand By.
