I enjoy a new computer. It will play DVDs, but when I try to install a fresh program from a CD-Rom, the computer doesn't do anything. It should auto install. Then when I look in MY computer, it say E:DVD. When I click it open, it doesn't show anything specifically on the disk.

In decoration to not seeing the icon for my DVD-RW drive (I surmise that is what it is call...where I burn notes to disc)....I can't get it to act incremental backups to discs I have been using for this purpose. Hi in attendance, i have blind with speakers and till yesterday they be working fine and i don;t know aht happened if sympathetic itunes or media player it say, itunes has detected a problem near your audio configuration. Audio/vidio playback may not work properly what does it mean and i also checked contained by control pannel under nouns and setting (whatever it is) but it says no device found and i also plugged the wires again. My computer's speakers are connected, and they are functioning. When i run a audition that goes next to the speakers, they work. And while running AIM, the sounds work. but when i go to listen to music next to Windows Media Player or ITunes, or go to play a winter sport, no music. When opening ITunes, it say there is no audio nouns. What is wrong with my speakers??

Im running Windows XP. I already tried varying everything in the control pannel. The soundcart is apparently section of the motherboard. I tried the sound beside 3 different speakers. I ran the Windows Sound Troubleshooter, but zilch worked. Is this a hardware problem? If so how do I fix it without replacing the total mother board.

I checked my power option, they're set properly, and shouldn't be causing this. emachine athlon H3065, window XP, no recent software, no changes at adjectives. I have to do a guide shutdown and then turn it posterior on again each time back it will work. I have norton internet surety, the latest update, and I run a virus scan, to no avail...anybody got any other planning? please gimme some feedback soon. It's not a huge issue (so far) but it is pretty annoying.

My computer shows that my external harddrive is live but i cant access any of the files on it Any thoughts?
the external unyielding drive shows the green light similar to its active but when i run to try and retrive data from it . the fluffy goes red and wont allow me to access the information on it. i've tried to unplug it and restart my computer. I've also tried to run a virus scan through it and that didnt work and i also tried the harddrive on another computer and had equal results . I was wondering how i uninstall the software for it and how to reboot the external harddrive.Thanks for your serve and advice within advance.

Right click on My Computer, Manage, Disk Management.
You should see all of the drives connected to your PC. Their drive correspondence, status, capacity, etc should be shown. Check that the external drive note is not in conflict near an existing drive. Right click on the drive to Open/explore/Change the drive letter.

I hold read similar questions concerning this issue and nothing seem to fit my situation. I played a game straight from MSN games so I'm sure it didn't contain a virus. The hobby played fine, no problem there, but when I stopped playing and shut the winter sport down, my whole computer eyeshade had become magnified! I other keep my resolution at 800x600 and I checked that first and the pole was still at that resolution.

It sounds similar to your resolution was accidentally changed.
To adjust resolution, right click on the desktop and travel to properties. Now, go to the settings tab. You will see a slider that allows you to adjust the resolution. Try several settings to see what looks most common for your screen. It definately won't walk below 640x480, so don't try that one (everything gets so big that the settings cannot fit on the blind, then you can't even click the OK button!).
You may also want to turn to the first tab and pick the standard theme from the drop down index, which will switch all the fonts and setting back to the failure to pay.

So when I am trying to burn a CD the program tell me that there is no supported drive. I a moment ago reformated this computer but this was not a problem past. I watch the DVD in the morning, and consequently later when I stir to watch more, the computer doesn't recognise that a disk is surrounded by at all. One of the programs used to play movies say that there is no disk surrounded by the @: drive. When I look in the Device Manager, it tell me that "Windows successfully loaded the device driver for this hardware but cannot find the hardware device. (Code 41)" and the troubleshoot does not work to fix it.

I have to install a new complex drive and copy all background from old to alien. No problem. But now I've lost my USB. Make sure your computer is not set to shut down base on how a UPS (interruptible power supply) is configured and make sure that your PC is only just getting the voltage it needs. Your power supply may be maxing out when you play more demanding games that require more power to the CPU and especially video card(s).
You can also travel into your power settings and check those. If your hard disks are set to shut past its sell-by date after a certain time, set them to never turn rotten, and that should fix your problem. You can access your power setting by right clicking on your desktop, left click on properties, vanished click on the Screen Saver tab, and then at the bottom, moved out click on Power.

i have tried to re-install my win xp but still have the problem. can anybody pls advice?

Make sure your computer is not set to shut down base on how a UPS (interruptible power supply) is configured and make sure that your PC is only just getting the voltage it needs. Your power supply may be maxing out when you play more demanding games that require more power to the CPU and especially video card(s).
You can also travel into your power settings and check those. If your hard disks are set to shut past its sell-by date after a certain time, set them to never turn rotten, and that should fix your problem. You can access your power setting by right clicking on your desktop, left click on properties, vanished click on the Screen Saver tab, and then at the bottom, moved out click on Power.

my motherboard be replaced to a new one and since consequently my computer always reboot, plenty of technician have checked the unit but still when it reach me, and try using it the whole daytime, it still rebooted.....please help

If nearby is no software problem ( Virus of BIOS or OS both) as it is a new system so I construe u have to check up the folowing:
1- Power supply Unit
2- Memory compatibility
3- cooling system( CPU fan)
assuming that yr frozen disk is very dutiful.

The problem begin when I had to replace to firm drive. Before I sent it off, it have sound. When I get the new one contained by, it didn't have an OS, so I bought Windows XP from a store and in a minute the control panel says No Audio Device. It's a home computer, so I don't know what the heck an Administrator is supposed to be, if I obligation to be one of those to install something.

if adjectives you did was to replace the existing intricate drive with a current one, then they should be traditional, if you are talking sturdy drives, they do need to be formatted impossible to tell apart way as the OS (ntfs, fat32). If you are chitchat cd drives then newly make sure the connections are near and the bios is set to auto detect, then the OS should see them.
the worst possible article you can do is install Win Me -- it is by far the worst OS by Microsoft ....EVER !!
now, since youve already done the cardinal sin - you involve to go to the manufacturer website and get drivers for it, and download it -- and install it ..near will be instructions on using it as a slave
