enjoy you checked for spyware? I recommend AVG ANTIspyware (it's free and is quality software), and to check for virus as well (AVG Antivirus). It could also be your registry, so you could grab hold of CCleaner (just Google it for the site) and clean it up near that.

And if you can't open your computer at all- press F8 as it boots until you capture the option to "boot surrounded by safe mode". Do that and run adjectives the anti-spyware/virus and reg. cleaner.
Well it could be a bad MB/CPU or imprecise power supply.
Do you have any anti-spyware downloaded. If not that may be your problem. Try also going thru the Start Menu underneath accessories and system tools and try disk clean-up as capably.
