Can anyone recommend a worthy modem/router at a reasonable price?
I own broadband in and the USB modem I be supplied by my supplier is sh*t; I have to start up my PC beside the modem unplugged!
Now I'm not a complete newbie but I'm a bit lost with adjectives the options and patois when it comes to broadband. I have a stripe next to my PC so I do not require a wireless one (a bit pointless for partially a metre).
So a little explanation to clear clear what is what out there would be appreiciated as in good health as a good guidance (at a reasonable price).

Modem Recommendation?

When You buy a Broadband modem you need you elicit your modem over the phone. call customer service. you can look it up 1800 directory which is free
cable modem is the fastest but if you enjoy DSL buy a modem buy a modem that does both cable & dsl that way you can other switch to cable modem or dsl when ever you switch services . I recommend a wired router there cheap and more out of harm`s way then the wireless and a 50ft Ethernet cable or more( If needed for second computer to connect to the Internet) and see card. (if you don't have a Ethernet connector on your motherboard) I recommend haveing your service provider install it. or read the brochure or go to the website of the designer of your modem and go to support "contact us" cooperation has adjectives the email and support numbers you need. if you own web service or on other computer walk to your Internet service provider's web page for support
