i surmise that i have a computer virus result in my mouse cursor is moving in the reverse direction of where on earth i want it to go..... i run a virus scanner through my computer but no virus. is this anything bad?

the ball may be stuck
if its a mouse beside a roller ball remove the globe and clean the inside and the globe and if its a laser, then verbs the lens with a dust spray... well-mannered luck
