a) how do i install a unknown mixer device? because it will not work through add/remove hardware
b) how can i check if i have a nouns card or if i need reinstall my software for your soundcard
Whenever I try to click on the volume button a message comes up just about no active mixer devices how can i fix this problem

I'm have the same problem, not a soul seems to know how to fix it..
turn to the control panel, and click on hard ware wizard, the click on nouns and media devices, in that is an option where on earth you can, test audio devices, you may also want to click on the finance tab that will allow you to, search for the drivers, when you find it click on the up date driver.
