I hold a problem. Windows became corrupted and i be able to repair satisfactory to back up my notes. In order to prevent background loss due to corruption of OS, i decided to purchase and install an secondary IDE drive to keep the OS on.
After I install everything, the dvd roms reject to turn on. They were giving me trouble ahead of time, but now debris to turn on. I replace one and it turns on opens and close.
I hold a P4C800-E Deluxe (ASUS) Mobo. I have two SATA drives running contained by a raid 0 array. I also have an additional IDE hooked up since. Now, I cannot get any IDE hardrive to be notorious by the Bios. If i hook the IDE DVD Rom up and also the hard drive, on separate settle channels, i cannot detect any settle devices. IF i do only the dvd rom -- Bios finds it no problem.
I took the IDE drives out and put them contained by an enclosure and they run fine. Any clue why the BIOS refuse to recognize the IDE harddrives at adjectives and why when everything is hooked up, the bios does not see any IDE device?
Mobo doesn't sanction IDE Hard-drives & DVD Rom at same time?
If there are 2 master drives on impossible to tell apart channel, the mobo may decline to engage any of them. The fact that it does not detect even when on separate channel is odd. It might support to flash BIOS and try again.
